Dear Y2 parents and children,
Welcome back to school! The Year 2 team are very much looking forward to working in partnership with you over the coming year. We want to let you know of a couple of dates for your diaries for the next few weeks.
Our topic for the first half term is called 'The Place where I live.' On the morning of Wednesday, 20th Sept we would like to take the children to Ormskirk town centre to look at some landmarks such as the clock tower where we will do some sketching. To link with our Geography curriculum we would also like to take the children to Coronation Park. When they get back to school the children will be designing their own playground for the town. There will be a letter going home with a permission slip to sign. Please make sure that this is returned to school by Tuesday, 19th. If you are available to help on the trip, can you please let a member of the Y2 team know.
On Thursday, 21st September the Year 2 team will be having a meeting to welcome you as parents and carers to our year group. We will be outlining the new curriculum for the academic year ahead, as well as familiarising you with the new routines for reading, homework etc. The meeting will be at 6pm in the Infant Hall.
We really look forward to welcoming you all.
