Dear Parents, Yesterday we took 56 year 3 and 4 pupils to Tarleton High school, for the District cross country year 3 and 4 event.
Before we deal with results, I must thank the staff who supported our teams-Mr. Knowles-Miss Williams and Mrs. Mitchell, without whom we could not have attended. Also, we must thank the army of Parents who got their children to the event, and finally, the people who managed to transport other pupils who would not have attended, without a lift . Of the 56 pupils 18 needed transport, so well done everyone-I hope to do the same, if possible each year, but we cannot manage without help.
The results-as usual, we had some great runners and great effort from everyone. The top two runners in each race counted towards the team score!
The boys year 3 team achieved 1st and 3rd place (4 points) and the year 4 boys managed 11th and 16th (27 points) a total of 31 points-finishing 2nd overall.
The Girls year 3 team finished 13th and 20th (33 points) and the year 4 girls 1st and 3rd (4 points) a total of 37 points-2nd overall.
All pupils are asked to run and try their best-we never put pressure on a child-and the children respond really well, yes its great to win a medal in the top 3, if we can! The pupils who finished 11th-16th-13th and 20th received a team medal, and I'm sorry we cannot give out more-to all who attended, and tried their best.
The re-arranged cross country relay at Ormskirk High is Monday 15th May, 4-5.30 pm.
Thanks again for your support and assistance-Mr. Thomas.
