Dear Parents, A big well done, to both boys teams, at Octobers Liverpool cup competition.
We took all the boys to JMO, and they played some great football and tried really hard, in all their matches. We played 5 games each, in our side of the draw.
The B Team fought really hard in every match they played, and managed to hold 2 school A teams, to a draw, the boys are a credit to everyone-Parents and school, for the effort and the "Never say die spirit" they showed.
The school A Team played 5 and won all 5, and this without any substitutes-due to illness/absence. The football they played was extremely good-lots of pass and move, some great teamwork, in defence they were tough, all round great display!
The A team, will contest the West Lancashire finals-on Tuesday 14th November, at JMO. We shall include all 10 players-if available, and compete against the other Ormskirk schools winner-Town Green, and the two Skelmersdale winners.
The winners of these finals will go on to Rainhill, to play schools from Kirkby, Southport, Runcorn, and Huyton. Top two teams go to Anfield or Liverpool Academy.
Letters today!
As the dark nights are drawing in, we shall have football training for this week only.
Next week, I will start Chess for year 6 team on Tuesdays, and Indoor Athletics training for pupils selected from P.E. on a Monday.
I will need to look at year 4 team-possibly with some year 3's, and the year 6 team, possibly with some year 5's.
We will also need to select 4 boys and 4 girls for the year 2 Athletics team.
I will keep parents updated on the message board and by text, regarding which pupils are to attend training.
We have one or two excellent chess players outside of year 6-I will also ask them to attend chess with year 6 pupils, if we can fit them in.
Thanks Mr. Thomas.
