Dear Parents, Can I thank the Parents, Staff and especially the Pupils, who endured the weather, last Thursday, at the Yr. 6 Girls football competition-JMO. The Girls, as expected, gave everything they had, we can only praise the effort they showed, which was tremendous. Our girls were never favourites to win, but battled really hard and reached a 3 way final, only to be beaten on penalties and I must commend the progress all the girls have made over the past 7 weeks. We took all the year 6 girls, who have attended football this year, in two teams of 8. Miss Pope, from year 5 took the B Team, and they had a great time, finishing joint 4th. Due to the time constraints on fixtures-Ormskirk District final-West Lancashire final-Merseyside final-Liverpool F.C. final, the event took place in awful weather, and we didn't have one complaint. The next girls football competition, is the Lancashire games qualifier 17th May. We will finish our football coaching this week, and concentrate on our Indoor Athletics training and event (18th January). We also have year 3/4 Athletics (25th January) and a YR 2 event (29th November). The pupils will try out during P.E. and pupils will be selected to attend an after school Athletics club, next term.
The boys Liverpool cup event is at the JMO. this Thursday.
